Honey

In 2016 we added a couple of beehives to our farm.  Andy, along with his Dad, had attended a local honeybee workshop that spring, and found the life and environmental impact of the honeybee amazing.

It is hard to explain how interesting and even relaxing it is to sit near the hives in the spring and summer and watch the bees do their work.  We have taken a non-invasive approach to beekeeping, entering the hives as little as possible.

We have clover pastures, gardens, wildflowers, apple trees that the bees are helping to pollinate and build their honey-stores from.  Our Honey is 100% raw and unfiltered.  We have been very happy with the honey we have harvested and believe it has a great taste!!  Local honey is also said to have health benefits, including helping with allergies because of the ingestion of the local pollen in it.

Please remember, honey is said to never go bad.  Some people love crystallized honey.  If you don’t and your honey has crystallized, you only need to warm the honey to bring it back to a smooth pour-able state.
